“Earlier this month, wine professionals throughout the world were shocked to learn that a leak of confidential information led to invalidated results for a key portion of the Master Sommelier Diploma Examination, regarded by many as the wine industry’s most rigorous certification exam. The news is still reverberating through Boston’s tightknit community of sommeliers.

Two weeks ago, the board of directors of the Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas announced that it had voted to invalidate results of the tasting portion of the 2018 exam, conducted last month in St. Louis. The board cited evidence that a Master Sommelier had breached confidentiality by releasing detailed information about wines that were supposed to be tasted blind. The statement did not discuss the extent to which candidates may have benefited unfairly from the disclosed information; nor did it name the Master Sommelier responsible for the leak.” 😎😊
